H.E. Mr. Anwar M. El-Khalil is the Chairman and CEO of MAK Holdings (Lebanon) S.A.L. He is also the Chairman of Continental Beverages Holdings S.A.L. and Director of Bank of Beirut S.A.L. He was the Chairman and CEO of a number of private and public companies such as: Beirut  Riyadh  Bank S.A.L. (Lebanon), El-Khalil Transport Ltd (Nigeria), Seven-Up Bottling Company P.L.C. (Nigeria),  El-Khalil & Sons Properties Ltd (Nigeria).

Member of the Lebanese Parliament since 1992, he participated in four governments as Minister of Parliamentary Affairs (1992-1994), Minister of State for Administrative Reform (1994-1996), Minister of Information (1998-2000) and Minister of Displaced (1998-2000). He was also the President of the Union of Arab Banks between 1983 and 1989 and earlier the President of the World Lebanese Cultural Union. He has been decorated by the Government of Lebanon with the highest civilian decoration  as Commander of the Legion of Cedar of the Lebanese Republic.

Mr. Anwar El-Khalil is a Barrister-at-Law and holds an L.L.M. from London University and he is a Member of the Honorable Society of the Middle Temple-London.
Deputy Chairman & Director
Mr. Farid M. El-Khalil was educated in Lebanon at the American University of Beirut  and received a Diploma in Business Management from London as well as The Program For Management Development at Harvard Business School.

He joined the Seven-Up Bottling Company in1968 as Plant Manager. Was promoted to Marketing Director in 1972 where he led the expansion program of the company into three new factories at Ikeja in Lagos, Ibadan in the west and Kano in the North.

In 1986,Mr.  Farid became the Managing Director of International Tobacco Co PLC, a joint venture with Philip Morris Inc. In 1999, the company was sold. His commitment and love for Nigeria conferred upon him the title of “Chief” by the King of the local tribes of Yoruba land of Western Nigeria. Chief Farid moved to Beirut, Lebanon as CEO, Lebanon & Overseas for the Group.

He served as Director of Beirut Riyad Bank S.A.L., Lebanon; Director in Seven-Up Bottling Co. Nigeria, Director in Green Eagles Cork and Seals, (manufacturers of metal closures and plastic containers); Sunglass Nigeria Limited, (manufacturing of bottles and glass containers); Director Cavalier Hotel, Beirut; and Director TIME ltd Beirut.

In 2001 Mr. Farid El-Khalil was appointed as Deputy Chairman of MAK Holdings and Chairman of the Human Resource Committee of the Board of MAK.

Head of Beverages & Director
Born in 1947 in Lebanon. Mr. Faysal El-Khalil graduated from  The  American University of Beirut  in 1969 with a degree in Political Studies. He joined the family trucking business in Nigeria. The same year after selling that business, he moved to Seven-Up Bottling Company PLC in 1975. The Company operated one plant in 1975 and has now grown to nine plants and 60 depots. Became the Managing Director of SBC  Nigeria in 1978 and served in that position until 2005.

He is presently the Chairman of SBC Nigeria, SBC Tanzania which was acquired in 2001 and SBC Ghana which was acquired early 2008. He is also Chairman of the recently set up SBC Kenya.

Mr. Faysal attended several Management Executive Programs at Harvard University. He has been decorated by the Nigerian Government with the distinguished “Officer of The Order of The Niger.

Mr. Faysal serves on the Board of MAK Holdings S.A.L. and is Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Board of Continental Beverages S.A.L.
